In November 2018, Steve Bannon, formerly a top aide to Donald Trump, was in the UK to deliver a address at the Oxford Union.

The event was disrupted by hundreds of demonstrators, and Bannon, scheduled to board a flight that night, told Jeffrey Epstein in an message: "Protesters slowed down my talk I doubt I can make the flight we r enroute to the airport".

Epstein responded: "That. Is a Gulf Air that leaves at 9:50 with a stop in Bahrain". Bannon replied: "U r an excellent assistant".

These messages were released on this week together with over 20,000 documents from the estate of Epstein, the deceased convicted sex offender.

The disclosure by the House oversight committee includes an text conversation where Bannon's name is withheld. Media outlets managed to establish his involvement by matching the timeline, occurrences, and places mentioned.

For instance, Epstein talks about arranging a plane from Scotland for the unnamed individual in the messages, and commends their "Oxford speech". Bannon took part in the News Xchange conference on November 14, and delivered the talk at the Oxford Union two days later.

Bannon, who is not accused of any wrongdoing, did not reply on the request for comment.

'I'll make sure you're well looked after'

Bannon was one of the president's key aides in the lead-up to the presidential election and during the initial phase of his presidency, but stepped down from the administration in August 2017.

He has admitted he was producing a documentary about Epstein prior to his death and allegedly has approximately 15 hours of recordings. In a recording of his show recently, he stated: "We plan to publish the film, the multi-part documentary, in the coming year - early next year."

But the newly released materials indicate Bannon's relationship with Epstein went further than documenting his life, with the disgraced financier at times seeming to act like a aide.

A short time prior to the conversation in which Epstein appeared to have booked a charter jet for Bannon, Epstein said: "what's it like to have the highest-paid booking agent in history ".

Bannon thanked him: "You are pretty good asst", to which Epstein responded "Therapies. Not Included".

Discussing a trip to "Abu Dhabi" in a separate text, Epstein assured Bannon: "I will ensure you are taken care of."

UK Politics Mentioned in Exchanges

The published messages also reveal Bannon and Epstein discussing British political matters in that year.

On the day of his speech at the Oxford, Bannon messaged Epstein: "I became involved in the EU exit issue this day with Farage, Boris and Mogg."

Then, in what seems like a allusion to the UK prime minister, the embattled UK prime minister at the period, he added: "The guys are trying to proceed. May soon…"

Epstein suggested Bannon: "In my view staying as much as you can uk. Best-- so people get the dedication of your follow through."

Soon after, Epstein inquired: "Will Theresa may survive". Bannon replied: "It seems unlikely however the guys here have little courage" and noted "Boris ; Gove; Rees Mogg; Davis - someone has to step up".

Theresa May was finally removed in May 2019 after surviving multiple attempts of lack of support in late 2018.

A spokesman for Reform UK informed the BBC: "Farage has never been in a gathering with Steve Bannon, Rees-Mogg and Boris Johnson." And there is nothing to suggest such a meeting took place.

The Congress will decide next week on whether the justice department should release all its files concerning its probe into Epstein, who passed away in prison in 2019.

Interest in Epstein's relationships with powerful figures was reignited recently after the publication of more than 20,000 pages from his archives.

A portion of those mentioned the former president, who has consistently denied any wrongdoing. The leader was a friend of Epstein's for a long time, but says they parted ways in the 2000s, two years before Epstein was initially charged.
